United States. Donald Trump sick? "False information," he dismisses upon his return to the media

The American president had not appeared in public for nearly a week, fueling rumors about his health.
Donald Trump on Tuesday dismissed rumors about his health that have been swirling across social media in the United States for several days, calling them "false information" during a press conference at the White House.
"I didn't see that," the US president said when asked by a reporter about the rumors circulating on the X and Bluesky platforms that the 79-year-old leader's health was failing after not appearing before the media for several days. "That's fake news," said the Republican, who frequently boasts of being in excellent health. In November, Donald Trump became the oldest person ever elected to the presidency of the United States.
The White House claimed in July that the visible bruises on the president's right hand were due to "frequent handshakes" and his use of aspirin as standard cardiovascular treatment. The US executive also revealed that Donald Trump suffered from chronic venous insufficiency, a common and benign condition. Presidential physician Sean Barbarella wrote at the time that Donald Trump remained "in excellent health."
The health of White House residents is a frequent and widely observed topic of discussion in the United States, but the election of Joe Biden in 2020 and that of Donald Trump in 2024 at nearly 80 years old have given the issue a new dimension. Donald Trump has frequently accused those close to his predecessor, Joe Biden, of hiding his cognitive and physical decline. After a disastrous debate against his Republican rival in June 2024, the former Democratic president was forced to throw in the towel and not run for re-election.
